Caitlin and Mike met at Queen’s University back in 2009. They were introduced by her sister Kim, one of the bridesmaids in the wedding. After graduating as teachers, they moved to Thailand together to teach at an international school. They spent two years in Thailand exploring their shared passions of food and travel before getting jobs at an international school in Germany. In 2015, before moving to Germany, they returned home to Canada. They took a trip to Kingston that summer, and down by Lake Ontario, where they first met, Mike proposed.
The day of their wedding consisted of dark clouds with the threat of rain. The weather wasn’t cooperating to say the least. Despite the forecast, they made the decision to go ahead with their outdoor ceremony at The Slit Barn. After two hours of torrential rain and hail, the clouds let up and they managed to capture these beautiful photos. Just as the ceremony was about to begin the sun broke through the clouds and they were married to the sound of the singing birds after the rain shower. They celebrated a beautiful evening of dancing with family and friends under the stars.
Thank you Caitlin and Mike for allowing Fresh Look Design be a part of your big day and for sharing these photos with us! Wishing the both of you all the best!
